"The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" Map

500.00

This 22” x 14” gouache on paper painting is an interpretive illustrated map of Ursula K. Le Guin's short story "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas". The general populace of the story is represented by the royal blue arrow, and the "Ones who walk away" in black. The map was created for Plotted: A Literary Atlas from Zest Books. If you haven't read the story, it is well worth a read. You won't forget it. I first fell in love with Le Guin reading the Earthsea trilogy as a teenager, and I was overjoyed to illustrate one of her stories for Plotted.
