This is a 18” x 24” gouache painting on Bristol Board. The inspiration for these paintings: “The Five Masters” is my new adopted home town of Waldoboro, Maine: Home of the Five Master Schooner. My studio overlooks a portion of the old shipyard where the first five-masted schooner - “The Governor Ames” - was built in 1888.
